At the recent Nearshore Nexus Conference, speakers focused on how Latin America and the Caribbean are “no longer in the shadow of India or China” when it comes to being  outsourcing destinations. Alvaro Uribe, former president of Columbia, highlighted positive social, political and business developments in the region, including a growing middle class, natural resources, the move away from dictatorship rule and the fact that many Latin American countries have created a “triangle of cohesion” based on security, free investment and social cohesion.
