Velocity Partners — Conversation w/Oscar Mullin (continued-1)

Hi everyone,

In this installment, we are continuing our conversation with Oscar Mullin. He’s a very busy Sr. QA and Testing Consultant who comes to us from our Montevideo, Uruguay office. If you recall from our last chat, it quickly morphed from “interview” to “agile testing conversation” with Oscar. If you know me, you know that I liked that shift.

And we quickly ran out of time in that discussion, so I scheduled a Round-2. In this round, Oscar and I discuss two Hot Topics for testers who are moving from traditional testing towards more Agile methods.

  1. How much effort to invest in Test Case design and development. Some think agile wants very little, but Oscar and I have slightly different ideas on what “just enough” looks like for Agile Test Cases.
  2. How to handle Defects / Bugs within agile teams. This is another one of those areas that generates quite a bit of debate in the “community”.

I’m beginning to really enjoy talking to Oscar about “Agile Testing” topics. And guess what? We ran out of time again. So, look for a Round-3 and perhaps more in the near future. I hope you enjoy it!

Stay agile my friends,

Bob.
