Tips for Improving Your Geographically Distributed Agile Team

Johanna Rothman

I’ve known of Johanna for nearly 20 years, but known her for perhaps the past 8-10 years. We’re both consultants and coaches in the same “space”, so we run into each other at multiple conferences on a yearly basis. Its one of my great pleasures when I get the chance to sit down and spend some time with her in conversation. She has incredible experience and stories and is always gracious to share.

Here’s a blog post where she shares on her . She even throws in an “extra” top for the price of five.

  1. Charter the Project
  2. Build a timezone chart
  3. Create a visual system that works for the team
  4. Power the infrastructure
  5. Watch where you put people
  6. Keep the teams together

If you’re supported distributed agile teams, and chances are good that your are if you’re reading this blog, then Johanna has some sound advice. I’d recommend reading it and following her thoughts.

Stay agile my friends,

Bob.
