Velocity Partners has experienced dramatic growth since its launch. Revenues increased year over year by a
powerful 139 percent in 2006 and another impressive 40 percent in 2007.
Headcount growth since April 2006 shows similar momentum--growing 76 percent to 96
employees in the company’s Bellevue, Portland and Buenos Aires locations.
Driving this growth is Velocity Partners’ distinctive service line offering. “Everything we do revolves around Agile/Scrum
software development processes,” says Peter Stroeve, Managing Partner. Top-line services include:
- Providing highly collaborative Agile nearshore teams.
- Seeding local software development teams with Agile experts.
- Offering hands-on Agile coaching using practitioners with real-world knowledge of the concepts.
Pivotal to Velocity Partners’ quick growth is its integrated onshore/nearshore approach using distributed Agile processes. “Many clients prefer our distributed Agile model to the more waterfall-style development processes that most often are seen in the traditional approaches to nearshore,” says Stroeve.
Velocity Partners’ model allows real-time software development iterations, which can speed project delivery for clients. The company supports onsite/nearshore collaboration via voice and video technology; the four-hour overlap in work days between the Pacific Northwest and Argentina is also advantageous.
Velocity Partners plans to fuel its continued growth by hiring additional experienced Scrum Masters and Senior Software Developers. The company currently serves 30 regional clients.
