CristianGHi everyone,

This is another post in our Velocity Partners colleague spotlight series of conversations. The idea is to sit down with some of my Velocity Partners colleagues and to “talk shop” a bit. Getting to know their projects, interests, backgrounds, etc.

In this installment, we are changing things up a bit and sitting down with one of the “leaders” here at Velocity Partners. So I’m very pleased to introduce you to . Christian was one of the very first hires Peter Stroeve made in Argentina as we were establishing our nearshore presence there. From that perspective, Cristian has been a fundamental contributor to our success there. He comes to us from our Rosario, Argentina office. Please listen in and get to know him in more detail.

Our conversation mostly surrounds the challenge Cristian had in the early days of V-P Argentina in building an agile team from scratch. How he focused very much on hiring the “right people” and establishing a culture that soundly aligns with agile and core Velocity Partners principles. As you’ll see, it was a lot of work and a risky undertaking. But in the end, the results have proven to be very worthwhile.

Even though the Argentinian teams have grown beyond Cristian’s ability to influence everyone directly, you can see his steady hand and focus on the people across the cultures in our various office. I consider the culture that he built to be one of the main reasons we’ve managed to keep our attrition so low.

We also explored some of his personal passions and I found out that Cristian is a true Renaissance Man ;-) with an eclectic set of interests around music, sports, and recreation.  All-in-all, it was a really nice chat.

Stay agile my friends,

Bob.
