Argentina has become the most visited country in South America with arrivals in 2011 reaching almost six million tourists. The excellent performance can be attributed to several factors including, Argentina’s natural attractions, the favorable economic situation of the region and the the creation of the tourism promotion institute, which has helped promote Argentina overseas and across Latin America. Argentinian brands and icons, such as Evita, Che Guevara and Malbec wine are also being attributed to the rise.
